Biography of Gerhard Göschel
Was born in Wiener Neustadt in 1940.
Studied at the acadamy of fine arts in Nurnberg, at the Staedel-school in Franfurt/Main and at the university of fine arts in Berlin.
Exhibited in the last years not only at various places in Hamburg (for example in the botanical garden, the Gänsemarktpassage in the scope of the Art-project, in the artist-house in Hamburg-Bergedorf or in the headquarters of the technicians health insurance) but also elsewhere, as for example in the citadel in Berlin-Spandau,in a centre for education in Hayn near by Erfurt, in the "producers gallery" (Produzentengalerie) in Potsdam or in the gallery at the dome in Brandenburg an der Havel .
Realised diverse projects in close cooperation with private collectors (creation of various interieurs), with business companies and public organizations (constructive ornament-projects in many towns of the Federal Republic of Germany). In the Protestant St. Nicolai church in Berlin-Spandau the veil-work of the new organ came into being. For the new building of the technicians health insurance in Karlsruhe a six piece work of high-grade steel was created. Latest a work called "5 elements out of wood and tissue" could be opened in the Oberlin-house in Potsdam-Babelsberg.
From 1994 to 2000 he lived in the artist house in Hamburg-Bergedorf, a house sponsored by the cultural authority of Hamburg and the Reemtsma foundation.
Moved to Brandenburg in 2000, restores and extends an old three-sided
yard in Zollchow/Galm since. At the Galm cultural, art connecting events take place;
so called "court cultures at Galm" where Goeschels works are shown as well as premieres
of the composer Jörn Arnecke take place. Noted music interprets are guests at the
Galm and the "court cultures" are visited by various guests from near and far.
At the moment Gerhard Goeschel works at pieces of art that combine sculpture and
music.
